Digital Nation: Virtual Worlds.

Digital Nation is a documentary about how far we have come in our technology and the disadvantages that we face. Technology has grown at enormous rates. Our technology has become so advanced that our new generations suffer from major challenges that have been created by the advancement. Digital Nation discusses what it means to be a developed country and the advances. From South Korea and them being the first to reach the technological age to the United States and how we are becoming like South Korea.

South Korea's children are known for their major game playing. A lot of them play video games all day and rarely sleep. They even say that some have died due to lack of nutrition and sleep. Gaming in South Korea has become an addiction especially among the children. In the United States we also have the issues of gaming. Our children are not as bad as South Korean children but we are slowly getting to that point. The United States is different with gaming because not only are the children addicted but so are the adults. Gaming has become a major role in our lives.

I choose to discuss about the "Virtual World" because I can relate to it. I am not a true gamer but video games play a major part in my life. I understand why a lot of people get addicted to the virtual world life. I love making avatars and playing in fantasy worlds. I am currently addicted to a game called "Minecraft." Minecraft is a game where you can explore different worlds and creations. You can build anything you want and fight evil monsters who hunt you at night. Minecraft is pretty much an unlimited game of imagination. You can do anything you want with Minecraft. I recently go the PC version where they provide more adventures. You can connect with other players all over the world and play together on different maps and mini games. It's kind of like world of warcraft in terms of the whole connect with other players all over the world and playing together.

After watching Digital Nations I realized that the human race has changed dramatically throughout history. Our intelligence has changed due to our advancements in technology. Some of it is positive and some is negative. We are slowly becoming more myopic and ignorant. Technology of course is a wonderful thing but it is also a burden.
